Today our youth praise band, praise team, and RESONATE youth choir are leading us in worship. I love when they get the opportunity to lead. We are blessed with some talented musicians in our church, and I am thankful that they are willing to use their talents and abilities to the glory of God.
These are the verses from the Word of God that are found in the songs we are singing today at church…
Holding Nothing Back
- and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. (John 8:32 ESV)
- Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. (2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV)
- For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1 ESV)
- I will run in the way of your commandments when you enlarge my heart! (Psalm 119:32 ESV)
- But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. (1 Peter 2:9 ESV)
- So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. (John 8:36 ESV)
Friend of God
- and the Scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”—and he was called a friend of God. (James 2:23 ESV)
- Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. (John 15:13-15 ESV)
- A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. (Proverbs 18:24 ESV)
Not to Us
- Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness! Why should the nations say, “Where is their God?” Our God is in the heavens; he does all that he pleases. (Psalm 115:1-3 ESV)
- Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ. (Philippians 3:8 ESV)
- All the nations you have made shall come and worship before you, O Lord, and shall glorify your name. (Psalm 86:9 ESV)
- For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. (Philippians 1:21 ESV)
Your Name
- I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever. (Psalm 86:12 ESV)
- I can do all things through him who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13 ESV)
- He rode on a cherub and flew; he came swiftly on the wings of the wind. (Psalm 18:10 ESV)
- And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12 ESV)
- Let my prayer be counted as incense before you, and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice! (Psalm 141:2 ESV)
Here I Am to Worship
- Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, [11] and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:5-11 ESV)
- We love because he first loved us. (1 John 4:19 ESV)
- And when the centurion, who stood facing him, saw that in this way he breathed his last, he said, “Truly this man was the Son of God!” (Mark 15:39 ESV)
