Getting Glory from a Cracked Radiator

My family and I were on our way out of town last week when the temperature gauge started rising and the engine fan kept kicking on. When I took the van to the shop to get it checked out, it was discovered that the van had a crack down the side of the radiator. Further, once they got it up on the rack, they found that there were metal spurs from the steel belts sticking out of one of the rear tires.

I am the type of person that just likes things to work as they are supposed to. No shake ups. No fuss. And definitely no muss. So things like the van disintegrating don’t jibe with my deal (that’s only kinda English, right??).

However, I have found that, if you truly believe that God is Lord of All, this type of situation is where the rubber meets the road (pun intended).

What do I mean?

  1. Better at the shop than on the highway. A temporary inconvenience on a hydraulic lift likely helped us avoid a prolonged crisis on the side of the road with frightened children.
  2. God knows my issues. He knows my proclivity to freak, and knows how best to steer my Christian walk for my eternal benefit.
  3. No such thing as too many opportunities for God to show up. He gets glory how and when He wants. And I praise Him.
