Toward the end of our summer vacation, we got to visit with Derek and Stacey, our friends from Lexington. Derek is the pastor of Lexington Baptist Church, where I served in my first vocational ministry position.
Our families went out to Christian Chicken (Chick-fil-a) for lunch, and Tony asked Derek what he was doing after lunch. Derek let him know that he had to go back to work at the church. Tony immediately let him know that he was more than willing to “take his post” for him at the office.
And he might someday, figuratively speaking.
I pray that God will use my children to do mighty things for His kingdom. And I believe He will.
Question: What do you pray for your children?
I am reminded of Joshua 1:8 – “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you might observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous and then you will have good success.” Jon, this is what I prayed for you and Michael and I pray this for my grandchildren. “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” III John 4
