What We Are Singing This Easter

I thought I would post a sneak peek at the music selected for our worship services this weekend. Where possible, I linked a YouTube video.

Pray for our services this weekend. May God fill our house with those who are far from Him or that do not know Him.

Here are the songs… Continue reading “What We Are Singing This Easter”

Technique or Restriction?

We have a blast in RESONATE, our youth choir at FBC-FH.

At Sunday’s rehearsal, we began to put some finishing touches on It All Belongs to You by Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir. We are memorizing it so that the choir can feel more free with their worship.

To that end, I gave them a clapping lesson. Continue reading “Technique or Restriction?”

Sunday Setlist 020611, Praise, and a Request

Before the setlist, I just have to ask something of my NoCamo readers…

On Sunday, we baptized three people under the age of 18. One other young girl got saved. God is doing some amazing things in the youth at church, and I’d ask you to pray along with me that God will bring a sweeping revival to our church!!! Our youth group took part in Disciple Now, a gathering of community youth from surrounding churches that served their communities and worshiped together in a common setting. We had some great testimonies this morning. Several of our teens rededicated their lives, and we had two professions of faith! Also, our 150 Ministries (choir for kids 3rd to 5th grades) sang up a storm!

What a great day!

Celebration Choir Is Back

Wednesday evening marked the restart of  Celebration Choir rehearsal schedule. We meet every Wednesday evening, right after the Midweek Worship service.

I have been looking forward to getting back into the groove. I am blessed to serve a talented group of singers that are constantly willing to try new things and give their best effort. This year, we are trying some new things to continue to raise the bar… Continue reading “Celebration Choir Is Back”

Privileged to worship another Sunday at FBC-FH! Here’s what we sang…

  • God Is Great
  • He Reigns

  • Your Great Name

And here is what we will be singing during Youth Worship tonight…

  • Beautiful One
  • Everlasting God
  • How Great Is Our God
  • He Knows My Name

Resolved, 3 of 3

This is the third and final post about areas in my life I am re-solving in 2011. If you missed them, please go back and check out part one and part two

Number 3: Reclaim My Art.

It is a misconception that those of us in music ministry spend much of our time actually MAKING MUSIC. I played SO much more in college and as a young adult, and I intend to change that (to some extent) this year.

OK, so I may never get back to the days when I would spend hours upon hours in a practice room with just a piano and an uncomfortable chair.

But a half an hour a day is a start.
