Doctrinal Singing

Words mean things.

I went to a conference a while back (not talking about Fantastical in this post). In many ways, the music is still reverberating in my mind, but some of the notes rang sour to me.

Worship is my lifestyle and my ministerial calling. So I pay particular attention to the methods of others that serve in like fashion.

We need to sing words that glorify God and portray Him accurately.

When people sing about destiny, the possible existence of heaven, travelling a road alone… that’s not singing about the God I know.

I don’t care how cool the stage looks. I don’t care how well a song is played. If it is worship, it needs to accurately portray and glorify the Lord Most High.

Question: where do you draw the line regarding the topic of music sung in church?
